Network Rail – padworth Lane

Network Rail – Padworth Lane bridge works progress report

Over the weekend of 8/9 November the centre span and parapets of the bridge were demolished successfully whilst the railway was closed. The following weekend the bridge was reconstructed with a large, high capacity mobile crane. We planned to complete the works to install the approach parapets with this crane over the weekend of 22/23 November but a last minute mechanical breakdown meant that they had to be postponed to the following weekend 29/30 November. Works to the bridge approaches are continuing as planned.

Thank you to everyone for your continued patience during these essential works.

One-way System – Rectory Road/Silver Lane

I have recently spent some time with the Police. They have agreed that some of the signage is confusing and will look into making some suggestions. They are going to increase patrols and for the next three weeks will spend 2 or 3 days a week actually parked to deal with ‘Wrong-Wayers’ and Speeders. Let us hope this has a good effect.
